Course Description:

  • To facilitate the learner to explore Furniture Design and Making with a view to re-skilling/upskilling and exploring concepts and subject areas that may interest the learner in future programmes or employment;
  • Demonstrate a broad knowledge of processes and procedures currently utilised within the furniture design and manufacturing industry;
  • Demonstrate an understanding of basic furniture design theory, safe use of tools and workshop practices;

Entry Requirements:

  • Leaving Certificate (traditional or applied) / Other equivalent at FFQ 4
  • Successful completion of interview
  • Candidates must be in a position to obtain Garda Vetting
  • Candidates must supply two written references (character, work or educational)
  • Candidates must be in a position to source two weeks work experience placement themselves.
