Course Description
Learners are equipped with extensive knowledge, skill and competence to work independently and under supervision in a science laboratory. Learners will take responsibility for the appropriate and safe use of laboratory equipment including cleaning, storing and organising equipment. Learners will demonstrate an awareness of social, ethical and legal issues in conducing experiments. Learners will carry out specific experiments and apply a range of scientific theory and practice to a laboratory context.

- Successful performance at interview
- Leaving Certificate (traditional or applied)

Work Experience Placement
Work Experience Placement is an integral part of this course. Students must obtain at least 10 days Work Experience for the academic year in a relevant laboratory environment.
